Activation is the process by which Voice Thing! is allowed to run on your computer.

Here's how it works:

When initially installed, Voice Thing! will run in Free Demo mode for two days without activation. So even if you don‘t activate it right away you can still use Voice Thing! in the meantime. (During this period, click the “Free Demo” button whenever you are presented with the Activation screen at launch.) But don’t procrastinate too long. After those two days are up, you won’t be able to launch Voice Thing! until it’s activated.

Your Voice Thing! license allows you activate Voice Thing! three times.

When you purchase Voice Thing! online, it is automatically activated on the computer you use for the purchase. Your other two activations are yours to use as you please. You could, for example, activate Voice Thing! on another computer (to have it, say, on a desktop and laptop), but keep in mind that once activated on a computer there is no way to de-activate it or move the activation to another computer.

We strongly recommend that you save at least one activation in case a computer problem makes it necessary to reinstall and re-activate Voice Thing! on your primary computer.

How To Do It

As mentioned above, when you purchase Voice Thing!, it is automatically activated on the computer that you use during the purchase process. Simply install it on that computer (if it isn’t already installed) and it will just work.

The only time that you would have to manually activate it is when you are installing it on a different computer or reinstalling it after some sort of catastrophic failure of your primary computer.

When you purchase Voice Thing! you will receive an email that contains your purchase and registration information. The registration information includes your License Holder Name and Purchase Ref. Code. You will need those for the manual activation.

To manually activate Voice Thing!, install it on the desired computer and launch it. You will be greeted by this Welcome screen:

Click the Activate button. You will be taken to the Activation screen.

Enter your License Holder Name and Purchase Ref. Code in the appropriate fields and click the Activate Installation button. If all is well, you will receive a confirmation message and you’ll be good to go. If there is any problem, you’ll get an error message and the opportunity to go back to the Activation screen and try again.

What If I’ve Lost My Registration Information?

If you have lost or forgotten your License Holder Name and/or Purchase Ref. Code, you can have them emailed to you by selecting the “Retrieve License Holder Name and Purchase Ref. Code” option on the Activation screen and entering the email address you used when purchasing Voice Thing! Then click Send and your information will be sent to you at that email address.
