Voice Thing! Built-in Voice Library
Voice Thing! comes with a large library of pre-programmed voices. From subtle to wild to weird, there's a Voice Thing! voice preset for pretty much any of your voice-changing needs. And, of course, you're free to tweak any of our voices and save them as your own custom creations.
Here are brief descriptions of all of the presets that are pre-installed with Voice Thing! In most cases, the actual preset names are pretty self-explanatory, but we've included some extra details below.
We've also included audio demos of some of the presets (indicated by the little comic balloons).
Click on one of these balloons to hear an audio demo
of a particular preset.
You can also download an mp3 of all of the preset audio demos here.
Note: When listening to the audio examples, remember that, like all Antares products, Voice Thing! is 100% isinglass free and we never engage in alien testing.
AlienDeepLanguage
Shifts your voice down an octave and engages the Alienize function. As a result, actual words won't be intelligible, so use it as a special effect.
Applies the Alienize function to your otherwise unprocessed voice.
Uses Mutate (with no pitch shift) to add a mechanical quality to your natural voice.
Uses a different Mutation setting to further accentuate the mechanical vocal characteristic.
Breathy Voice
Adds a subtle bit of scratchy sibilance to your natural voice.
Pitch shift up and shortening your throat turns you into a cartoon character (not really, of course - but you knew that).
Radical Mutation and 100% Echo puts you at the bottom of the putrid cavern that serves as your home. Try changing the Mutation setting for a variety of creature characteristics. (Pick "8" for more intelligibility.)
Mixes the original and pitch-shifted versions of your voice. You'll be beside yourself with delight.
Clones 2
Same as Clones 1, but as a different species.
Designed to work best with already deep voices, this preset gives you the vocal characteristics of a certain evil genius.
Gives a male voice that classic "Mr. Announcer" sound.
DeepVoice 2
Another variation of "Mr. Announcer," this time with a bit of echo added.
Pitch shift down, lengthened throat, and a touch of echo for that sought-after demon sound.
DemonWarrior 2
The older and more world-weary brother to DemonWarior 1.
Ducky
Like Cartooney, but with 20% more Quack™.
The name pretty much says it all.
Again, pretty self-explanatory. For females using this, don't forget to "voice act" male speech patterns and rhythms. (Also has interesting effects on male voices.)
Like FemaleToMale 1, but produces a different male voice.
FemaleToMale 3
Yet another variation of a male voice.
If you liked Quack™, you'll love Croak™.
The quickest, easiest way to gain both length and girth.
Want to sound like a bunch of small people hanging out on your front lawn? Then this is your preset. (Actual front lawn not required.)
Gnomes 2
A slightly bigger, lonelier gnome, hanging out by his or herself. Probably over by the hedge at the edge of the lawn.
HarmonicDelay
Easily intelligible Mutation with a fair amount of echo.
Adds reverberation to your natural voice to put you in the hall of the democratically-elected benevolent mountain leader.
Reverb Medium Room
Same as above, but downstairs in the somewhat less impressive meeting room.
Want to sound like the announcer at a high school football game? Then you've chosen the right preset.
Like talking through a long tube. Great for submarine warfare.
Robot 1
WWAD?
(What would Asimov do?)
Robot 2
Express even less emotion than Robot 1.
No, not a robot that's been snorting illegal lubricant. Just a very small robot.
StarComm 1
You'd think that by the time they have interstellar travel, those space suit radios would get better reception. But no.
Can you hear me now? No? Oh, well...
The Machine (just try it).
What can we say? It's a tiny alien.
Man! I bet the warranty just expired too.
